49th Janów Podlaski Auction & Summer Sale
Arabians of the State Studs
12 - 13th of August 2018

Photo sessions at the State Studs are done!
Photo sessions for the sale catalogue at the studs of Janów Podlaski, Michałów and Białka have just come to an end. The author of the images is, for the second time in the history of the Janów Sale, the Belgian photographer based in Qatar, Glenn Jacobs, chosen Photographer of the Year 2016 in a contest organized by “Arabian Horse Times”, who is also a trainer and handler of show horses. Jacobs studied graphic design in the Sint-Lukas School of Arts in Brussels. He has plenty of photographic works to his name, cooperates closely with “Tutto Arabi” and “National Geographic”, among others. “I feel honoured to have been asked to photograph the horses for the auction:, he said last year. “It is a privilege to capture even a small part in time of a 200 year tradition of breeding extraordinary Arabian horses for this event that attracts people from all over the world.”

The photo session was first held in Janów (21st-23rd of May), later in Białka (23rd of May) and finally in Michałów (24-26th of May). “As it’s the second time that I come here for the auction, I feel more comfortable about the whole situation”, Glenn Jacobs said of his experience this year. “I remember the last time I was here, we even had snow. Now it’s completely the opposite. There is nothing that I can complain about, maybe except about the mosquitos, but everything has been going very smooth. The horses did a very good job, also the people that we were working with. Everything has been great”.
